Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center brings acute inpatient medical services to communities in Cumberland, Perry, and York counties. The facility, features 108 private inpatient beds and an attached outpatient medical office building.
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Registered Nurse Service Line Coordinator is responsible for facilitating surgical case flow on designated service lines within the operating room. This includes responsibility of scrubbing or circulating in service line cases, managing equipment, preference cards, and responsibility for all key performance indicators within that service line.
Daily Flow within service lines, scrub and circulate, manage equipment needs. Fire case on time starts and turnaround time. Orders supplies for cases as needed and partners with schedulers to ensure vendor management of service line. Proactively assess the schedule for coming days to ensure that equipment, resources and plans are in place to meet the needs of the scheduled surgery cases. Orient new team members to the service line, in partnership with the OR Nurse Educators. Partner with clinical staff leaders, Assistant Nurse Managers and the Nurse Manager to create a leadership visibility plan and ongoing communication strategy to meet the needs of the nursing workforce
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Associates in Degree Nursing
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the state of employment required.
Two (2) years relevant experience.
BLS required prior to orientation completion.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
Bachelor's Degree Nursing
