ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and maintain desk inventory, complete reports, and resolve PIP inventory.
Accurately and thoroughly documents accounts with all findings and work efforts.
Review the account information and necessary system applications to determine the next appropriate work activity.
Contact insurance carriers through website, email or telephone to resolve outstanding accounts.
Research and respond to insurance correspondence.
Verifies insurance, benefits, coverage & eligibility, obtains insurance authorizations for scheduled & unscheduled Hospital services, and secures visit notification to insurance companies.
Conducts interviews with patients and/or family members and provides world-class customer service.
Initiate telephone or letter contact to patients to obtain additional information as needed.
Respond timely to emails and telephone messages as appropriate.
Conducts field visits to patient homes.
Notifies hospital case management, social services and admissions staff of case screening determinations and outcomes via verbal and written communication.
Assist market leadership with the compilation and analysis of various monthly reports.
Interacts with various levels of facility administration to communicate various departmental needs or issues and act as a liaison when attending or leading facility meetings.
Trains and mentors staff on policies and procedures of the department, facility protocol, and various operating systems.
Performs quality checks on staffâ��s performance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

Working familiarity with the rules and regulations pertaining to Federal, State and County programs.
P/C systems literate including Windows, Microsoft 365, Excel and Word programs.
Ability to work independently.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to present to a group audience and lead a business meeting.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with efficiency.
Minimum typing skills of 35 wpm.
Advanced knowledge of PIP requirements.
Detail oriented, with strengths in dealing with multiple facilities, Supervisors, and Hospital platforms.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience preferred to perform the job.
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 year work experience with insurance or related experiance
Include minimum certification required to perform the job.
