Penn State Health is searching for an experiencedtransplant/VAD coordinator to fill a key position on our team. Responsible for coordinating the clinical care and education needs of patients requiring circulatory support or transplant. This includes Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD), Total Artificial Hearts (TAH), and the use of Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) for treatment of cardiogenic shock. Responsible for the oversight and coordination of the extensive requirements for ‘work-up’ of patients for transplant, bridge to transplant mechanical circulatory assist device, or destination therapy within the scope of an RN.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Master’s Degree in Nursing required.
2 years’ experience with cardiac transplant and/or mechanical circulatory support patients in the patient care environments required.
Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse by Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners.
ACLS & BLS are required
Certification as a Clinical Transplant Coordinator required or must obtain within 2 years from date of hire.
STRONGLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience on a team and facilitating patient referrals through evaluation and waitlisting.
